VES has acquired many patents over the years of which VES personnel, including President Alan Lesesky, can claim inventorship. The intellectual property that resulted from VES's research and development efforts sparked innovations that had far reaching implications throughout the trucking industry, leading to new product and technology applications that promoted the safety of heavy duty vehicles on the road and enabled data communications not only between truck components, but also allowed for bidirectional communication between the vehicle, the driver, and home/fleet office.
